In 1971, Patricia and Arnold Crowther presented a six-part radio series about modern Witchcraft on BBC Radio Sheffield. First broadcast in January of that year, these recordings offer a rare opportunity to hear two Gardnerian Wiccan priests explaining their religion to a British audience, touching on its history, folklore and practices.

Produced by Peter Hawkins, the series is a valuable record of Wicca’s public presence in Britain in the decades following Gerald Gardner’s work. The original recordings, preserved on tape, were digitised and made available again by the Centre for Pagan Studies in 2015.

This collection is part of the Coven Speculum Lunae Digital Archive and brings together all six episodes for historical consultation.
